Apple has responded to a group of hackers that are stating that they attacked Apple iCloud. The group said that they want to erase the information of millions of iPhones.
Apple confirmed that the threats have been received, but also stated that no hacks were found yet. The hackers demanded 75.000 dollars and threatened to launch more attacks. The group says they have gained access to over 500 million iCloud accounts.
A spokesperson of Apple told Fortune that the information possessed by the hackers is most likely gained from older hacks. Apple stated that the systems are being scanned to look for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. The hackers might have information which is still relevant, such as old passwords that have never been changed by iCloud users.
