Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer has decided not to take her yearly bonus because of the security issues in the company. She has stated that she wants her bonus to be distributed amongst the 8500 employees of Yahoo, but it is yet to be decided whether this will go through.
Mayer refuses her bonus because of dataleaks from cyber attacks in 2013 and 2014. She states that it is her responsibility and therefore has decided to not accept the bonus this time. Last year she didn't accept the bonus either.
Research showed that the board of Yahoo has not been dealing with the data leaks correctly. The taken measurements were not nearly enough to be sufficient and a couple of members of the board knew about the data leaks for a long time, without doing anything.
