In a completely unexpected turn of events, the American President Trump let FBI-Director James Comey go.

A statement claims his employment was terminated in accordance with the advice given by Minister of Justice Jeff Sessions. The decision has caused outrage across the board regarding the Democrats, but even numerous Republicans showing their dissatisfaction with the sudden decision. According to most, the timing of it all makes this a very suspect event.

Comey had been the center of attention several times during the election campaign by reopening the investigation regarding the use of private e-mail accounts by Hillary Clinton during her time in the Obama administration. Some still claim this could have been a turning point which resulted in the win for the recently elected President Trump.

But what concerns most politicians and journalists about the unexpected decision, is the link with the ongoing investigation into the involvement of the Russians regarding the election campaign of Trump. The former FBI-Director was at the head of this investigation and this has brought numerous people to the conclusion that the termination could be part of a cover-up not unlike President Nixon tried in the 1970s regarding the Watergate-scandal.
