The FBI, together with the American ministry of inland security, has released a warning concerning digital attacks on the vital infrastructure in the U.S.

The U.S. has been a victim of several attacks since May 2017. Some of these attacks have been successful, amongst them are energy and water suppliers. 

Suppliers

To carry out attacks, usually the cyber criminals use a supplier to set up large attacks. They work in several phases, gathering information first and then spreading phishing mails to gather more information from inside the organization. If phishing succeeds, malware is spreaded in the internal network of the company to set up larger attacks. Different software is then downloaded to operate and take control of the organization.

It is not yet known who carried out the attacks.
