Angela Merkel, currently presiding the economic G-20 summit with Germany, is advocating for global legislation regarding the security of the digital world.

In the aftermath of the growing number of cyber criminality, the Chancellor sees an opportunity for all nations to work together on digital security around the world. According to Merkel the workings of this digital environment can be regulated just as the G-20 summit regulates the financial world market.

However, the chairwoman recognizes the magnitude and difficulty of such a collaboration, which is still very much in its infant stage. But the result of such a successful worldwide project could potentially make our digital surroundings a much safer place to be in both for its users as its developers. Unfortunately, a tangible suggestion of such a legislation has yet to have been made by any party.
