Education and career
I studied Media and Entertainment Management at INHOLLAND University of Applied Sciences in Rotterdam and spent a semester at the Akademia Humanistyczno-Ekonomicna in Lódz, Poland. During my study I got interested in copyright, so that's why I decided in 2013 to start the bachelor Jurisprudence at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. I finished my bachelor's degree in my first year of universit. In 2016 I started the master Information law at the University of Amsterdam, focussing on privacy and data protection. During my studies I was a volunteer for a human rights organisation in Tanzania, where I gave workshops on the rights of women. I was also an intern at the KNVB (Dutch football association) and at Deikwijs Lawyers. After my student-internship at De Clercq I became a legal representative.
Daily practice
I chose for De Clercq because of the atmosphere in their office and because of the legal issues and the way I am introduced to the practice of IT and privacy law. Privacy and data protecttion is hip: people see the importance more and more, especially with the GDPR being implemented in 2018. I find the answer to questions from our clients regarding privacy. Besides that, I also evaluate contracts and agreements to make sure that they fit the GDPR legislation, so that clients can prepare for the GDPR in time. Interesting, as I am able to directly implement the knowledge I have gained in the past years.
