Personal information of over 800.000 users of CloudPet toys has been hacked in the past. Recordings made by children and parents were found on the internet. Details on the data leaks have been reported to CNN by security expert Troy Hunt.

Toys made by CloudPet works with an app through which parents can make the toys talk to their children. All of these conversations were stored in an Amazon Cloud server. The Amazon server wasn't secured correctly by CloudPet which made it easier for cyber criminals to acquire the information.

Hackers have hacked the database in the past and stole information. These hackers contacted CloudPet and demanded a payment in bitcoin. CloudPet eventually carried out a back-up through which the data leak was solved. Users of CloudPet have however not been informed about the leaks.

The information can not be found on the internet anymore. Users of CloudPet products should not use their CloudPet password for any other service as it is likely that cyber criminals have information on the passwords.

CloudPet has not yet responded to the report..
